Minority Mental Health Month: Closing the Gap in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry

July is Minority Mental Health Month — a good time to say this out loud.
Access to child and adolescent psychiatry is one of the biggest gaps I see, especially for Black and Brown families. Long waitlists. Few physicians who look like the families they serve. Even fewer who treat the whole picture — mind, body, and home life — instead of just prescribing and moving on.
I'm one of a small number of physicians board-certified in both Adult and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, alongside Obesity Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine. At The Healthy Weigh MD, I offer a limited number of child & adolescent psychiatry consultations alongside my weight and women's mental health practice.
This isn't a large program — it's intentionally small so every family gets real time and attention. If you're a parent looking for integrative, whole-person psychiatric care for your child, message me or visit thehealthyweighmd.com to see if we're a fit.
Now accepting a limited number of new child & adolescent psychiatry consultations.
